On this page I will upload my journals that I have written during my observation:-
Journal 1:-Finally, today I will start teaching in the school. I woke up early morning straight to the school, I met my friends who will be practicing with me in the same school I will teach in. The principle took us to our teachers who we will be studying with. I met my teacher and went with her to the class then I started meeting the students I will be teaching. They were reviewing their past lesson of the letter they learned. Then they played in the corners they had in their classroom, such as building, drawing, etc... They ended their day by watching a short play.

Journal 2:-Today my trainer did not attend to the kindergarten. I had all the responsibility by myself in controlling the class. I took them to the morning assembly then I took them back to their class in straight line. I taught them their new alphabet letter which is in the objective of their weekly scheme and I drew them some examples that starts with the letter to make it clear for them and to help them in memorizing it easily. They had their lunch together, then I played for them a short play to watch. Afterwards, they played around in the sections, then they had their snacks to eat.

Journal 3:-Even today, my trainer was absent. I had to control the class by myself. Today, we had to celebrate the universal healthy day. All the kids had to wear a costume of a fruit or vegetable and bring with them healthy food to share it with the other kids. All the classes gathered in the hall for the assembly then every kid had the chance to get up on the stage while the teacher was calling them by the costumes they were wearing, for example, strawberries had to get on the stage, then bananas and so on… Afterwards, they all gathered in the hall and started sharing the fruits, vegetables and the healthy food they brought with them.

Journal 4:-My trainer skipped today too. After the assembly, I took them to the class and I had to teach them ‘surat alfalaq’, I played it for them several times and they kept repeating behind the sheikh who’s reading, so they can memorize it. Then I taught them everything the plant needs to grow, and I taught them the keywords of sunlight, air, and water. The kids had also to differentiate between living and non-living organisms. Then I sat down, and the kids sat around me then I started reading them a story, and later, I started asking them about the story I read for them.

Journal 5:-My trainer skipped today too. Today I did several things during my duty time, I taught the children how to differentiate between the letters they have learned and I gave them a lot of examples and words on those letters while they had to match the pictures with the correct word. I also sat with them on the carpet, I kept reading for them ‘surat alfalaq’ and the children kept repeating behind me several times. Then they ate their breakfast and had their break time. After that, I sat with them again on the floor and I started reading them stories that I gave them the freedom to choose.

Journal 6:-Today I had to teach them a mathematical lesson, and my college teacher had to visit my lesson to grade my way of teaching. At the beginning of the class I had to make a quick review for the students about the numbers they have learned, then I taught them the new numbers they will be learning which are from four to seven. I took a group of students on a corner and I made them count the objects I have grouped in front of them. As well as, I gave them some other activities such as putting the number of objects I ask them in the basket. Finally, at the end of the lesson, I gave them an activity sheet with the numbers they have learned today and allowed them to choose the number they want to color it.

Journal 7:-This is my seventh day in the kindergarten. At the beginning of the lesson I gave them a quick review of the letters they have learned already, then I started to introduce them to the new letter they will be learning today which is the letter ‘S’. I showed the students some pictures of things that start with the letter ‘S’. I drew three faces on the board with different mouth shape, depending on the way of pronouncing the letter in the word. Then I taught them the three hand signals depending on the way of pronouncing the letter. I took a group to teach them how to write the letter and divided the rest in the corners.

Journal 8:-It’s my eighth day in the kindergarten. After assembly we went back to the classroom, I gave the students biscuits to eat then we started the lesson. I gave them a quick review of the letters we have learned and focused on this week’s letter, I asked the students to give me examples of the letter. After that, I took a group on a side and divided the other students in the corners. Later, after their break time, we took the students to ‘Asma’s School’ where they played in a place called Asma’s house, they enjoyed their time by changing from daily routine from staying inside the kindergarten.

Journal 9:-
Finally, it is my last day in the kindergarten. After the assembly they had a science class, they had to know the parts of the plant such as roots, stem, leaves, and flower. They also learned the process the plants need to grow such as water, air, and sunlight. We have a plant in the classroom beside the window, so the sunlight can reach it and everyday one of the students should water the plant to grow. At the end of the day, I played with them some games because it is my last day with them, I gladly wanted them to remember me as a good memory.
