New way of learning
Integrating Technology with Bloom’s Taxonomy The advanced technology has helped a lot in changing the atmosphere of teaching; in a way that made it more interesting and helpful when it comes to both students and teachers. In addition, there are many positive aspects of integrating technology in classrooms, such as: student slide shows in which students are able to capture the information that they gained into colorful slides with the aid of interactive media (pictures and videos). This allows students to stay more focused and engaged in the subject. Another important aspect which can be gained through technology is reading groups which helps students to discover and search for new vocabulary while reading. Furthermore, tools like ‘blooms digital taxonomy’ provides students with different experiences of learning by using technology. Digital tools can also facilitate student learning. Which aims to enhance some certain skills as technology is becoming an important part of our daily life. On the other hand, there are six important skills when it comes to digital learning; first comes the creating skill in which instructors are able to create blogs, videos and filming which is an essential part of learning. The second skill is evaluating which is a helpful skill for teachers most importantly when grading and rating student work. The third skill is analyzing which helps to draw a relationship between ideas; for example, mind mapping surveying and linking. The fourth skill is applying; in this skill instructors should be able to use information in a unique way for example using different diagrams to explain the topic uploading some videos that are related to the topic using different tools like calculating which engages students to learn. The five skill is understanding in this skill ideas are explained as written materials or graphics that tools that are used in this skill are journaling, tweeting and subscribing. The last skill is remembering which is the lowest skill. This skill is more about recalling facts and information by using bookmarks googling and copying. Moreover, blooms digital taxonomy is used to encourage higher-order thought in their students by building up from lower-level cognitive skills. Which helps the instructor to use the right skill to meet the goals of learning. Technology integration in education can facilitate students learning by boosting their performance and productivity. It can also inspire positive changes in teaching methods and towards an innovative future. Reference: 1- Integrating Technology with Bloom's Taxonomy. (2016, May 9). Reading issue 4 :- The different kind of digital
When it comes to learning, Digital immigrants are logical learners who prefer slow and controlled information from limited sources. As learners, they tend to focus on one task at a time, and so they interact with one person at a time. When Digital Immigrants look for information on the web they go for traditional new sites such as, Wikipedia. In comparison, Digital Natives are intuitive learners- since they were born during or after the digital age; the time when the personal computer was introduced which provided the ability to transfer information freely and quickly. Digital natives are always attached to their phones and they can multitask while surrounded by social events, which makes their approach as learners quite different from Digital Immigrants. As Teachers, Digital Immigrants prefer to teach as per the curriculum and guidelines for a standardized test. Thus, the information provided in a logical and sequential manner, where they prioritize text before imagery and sound. They also prefer when their students work individually instead of in teams. In contrast, Digital Natives tend to be more networked teachers. Their approach at giving out information prioritizes imagery and motion and, so it is more active and engaging. They prefer when their students interact and network; producing work as part of teams. Reference :- 1-Digital Natives vs Digital Immigrants. (2013, October 24).
