Art Techniques For Kindergarten
1- Bubble Painting
Resource / Material:-
1- Bowls
2- Water 3- Dish Soap 4- Paper 5- Straw 6- Painting Instruction:-
1- Provide all the materials on the table
2- Gather the students into groups 3- Tell the students the instructions before they start 4- Make sure they know how to blow in the straw instead of sucking 5- Fill the bowl with water 6- Add the soap to the water and stir it 7- Then add the painting color to the bubbles and stir it again 8- Put the straw in the bowl and start blowing to make bubbles 9- Place the paper on top of the colored bubbles for few seconds till the bubbles pop and remove it 10- Use different colors to make it colorful and keep doing the same steps 11- When you're done, put it near the window for the sunlight, and allow it to dry |

1- Fine motor Skills: - Holding Straw - Blowing bubbles - String the soap with the water 2- Gross motor skills: - Hold the paper - Place it on top of the Bubbles - Press the paper gently and remove it - Pick the other bowl with different color to use it Cognitive: Children will learn the colors names and will mention the shape that the bubbles make which is circles. They can mix colors and make new colors to use them. They'll learn that adding the soap to the water makes a foam and by blowing in the straw bubbles will appear. Social-emotional: - Give the students many options and allow them to choose. For example, provide the paint colors for them and allow them to choose the colors they want and make their own design. - The students will communicate with each other, share the things and help each other. For example, when the student asks the other student to give them the paint or the bowl with different color. - Engage the student’s interests and ask them what they're going to make, ask them to mention the colors they used as well. Students will share their experience by making their own design. |

KLPA3 - listen to and identify phonemes in words. Students will develop their speaking skills while communicating with each other. Math: K2NS1 - state the forwards number sequence from 1-20 in Arabic and English. Students will develop their understanding by learning how to count the numbers in order, for example counting how many colors they used or how many bubbles. Science: KM1 - describe simple physical properties of a variety of materials. The kids will explore, find out new things and learn new experiences by mixing colors, the soap with the water and by blowing in the liquid bubbles will appear. |

1- Fine motor skills: - Students will use their fingers to cut the sponge and the string - Put the glue on the string to stick it on the sponge - Use the brush to paint the string 2- Gross motor skills: - Press the sponge on the paper to make a print Cognitive: Students will think of a design to make, then they’ll start cutting and sticking to make the shapes they want to finish their final design. Social-emotional: Students will communicate with each other before they start their work to share their ideas and saying what they’re going to do, and after they finish their work, students will describe the work they have done in front of his classmates. |

KLLK3 - use efficient and consistent motion to form letters. Students will make their own shapes and designs or their letter to print. Math: K2SGD1 - manipulate, identify and sort familiar 2D and 3D shapes in exploration and play and recognize them in everyday contexts. Students will learn the difference between the 2D and 3D shapes and objects. Science: KM3 - identify simple ways in which the shape of an object can be changed. Students will have the options available to choose the shape they want. |

3- Clay
Resource / Material:-
Instruction:-
- Cut the amount you need from the clay using the plastic knife
- Spread the clay using the dough roller to make an a equal size of the clay - Use the cake model to cut the design or the shape you want out and remove the extra clay around, or use the plastic knife to make your own design - When you’re done designing the clay, put it near the sunlight and allow it to dry - After it dries you can paint it using the colors you want - Put the paint on the plate and use the brush to paint for a final look |

Social-emotional: Students will collaborate with each other to finish the activity. Share the materials such as paints and brushes. |

4- Play-dough

2- 2 cups of flower 3- 1 cup of salt 4- 1 cup of water 5- 1 TSP of cream tartar 6- 2 TSP of oil 7- Food colors 8- Medium- size bowl 9- Small bowl 10- Roller Instruction:-
1- Mix dry materials in medium sized bowl
2-Then add the water and the oil 3- Mix the all materials together ,not too soft and not too hard, mix till you make play dough 4- Divided the amount into 4 pieces and put it in small bowls 5- Add the food coloring to each bowl, you may use different colors, then mix it till the color is completely mixed with the dough |

Social-emotional: The students will communicate with each other to share stuff, such as sharing the cake models or the roller and the different colors of the play dough |

Because they'll tell each other what are they planning to make, by sharing their idea's to each other Math: K2NS7 – Recognizes and write numerals from 1 to 10 in Arabic and English because student's could make numbers with play dough and they could count how many colors have they used while playing with the dough Science:- KM3 - list simple ways in which the shape of an object can be changed. because by making different shapes with the dough, they can make a shape with the dough but then they change their mind and they want to make a different shape, the dough is still soft and could easily be changed . At the end, they can say what are the shapes they made. |

5- Natural Materials or Collected Objects

1- Colored papers
2- Dead leaves and flowers 3- Scissors 4- Glue 5- Newspapers 6- Magazines Instruction:-
1- Go to the garden and collect the dead leaves and flowers from the floor. They should be dry already.
2- Choose the paper color you want. 3- Use the glue to stick the leaves and the flowers on the paper in the way you want 4- Use the newspapers or magazines to cut out the design you want to make, for example cut from the magazine to make rain drops, you may look for a blue picture to cut out the rain drops then stick it on your paper |

Fine motor Skills: that the students will use their finger to hold the flower and the leave and stick it on the paper cognitive: They’ll think of what could they make with the leaves and flowers, they could be colorful flowers were they could have many ideas to make their work. Moreover, they’ll think of how could they use the newspapers and magazines to add them to their work and make their final picture looks good, by delivering the wanted picture. Social-emotional: Students will share the material with each other such as the glue, scissors, newspapers and magazines... Then they’ll share their work with their classmates and tell them about the materials that they have used to complete their work. Students could express their emotions by art and making their own designs. |

Math: K2NO1- represent and determine 'how many?' when objects are put together or taken away in practical, everyday situations. because Students will count how many materials have they used, then they can compare it with their friends and say who used more materials and who used less. By that they’ll learn the difference between less and more. English: KLLK1 - use one’s name to learn about words and make connections to words -Developing their speeches by learning new words. Use vocabulary words while designing. -Connect the word by the action they’re doing. For example, when they’ll glue use the word “stick” and when they’ll use the scissors tell them to “cut” -Name the parts of the flower, if they had a flower in their work. -Ask them what color paper have they chose. -Ask them to say what they made. Science:- KM2 - compare a variety of materials on the basis of their physical properties. because By adding newspapers and magazines to the natural materials they have collected such as the leaves and flowers to make their art work. -Compare between the natural materials that they have collected from the garden with the newspapers and magazines. -Being more creative by adding the newspaper and magazines to the natural collected materials to finish their design. -Name the parts of a plant if they made one. |
